CONÓCENOS

My village is La Eliana, it is in Valencia, it is a small village. In my village we celebrate a Semana Santa, it celebrates the birth, resurection and death of Jesus. The Semana Santa is very funny. I love it.

Mi pueblo es La Eliana, está en Valencia, es un pueblo no muy grande. En mi pueblo celebramos la Semana Santa toda de fiesta. Es muy divertida: puedes bailar, cantar, ver desfiles. mascletás y muchas cosas más. La Semana Santa es una celebración que representa el nacimiento, la muerte y resurrección de Jesús. Unos días de fiesta y el de la muerte es un día funerario, pero igualmente es muy bonito e interesante.

Heron Ciity is a big resort. There you can see films, play with videogames, eat… The new film is” HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON“. Here English films are shown in Spanish.
In Heron City you can see films in Kineápolis.
There is a LASER GAME. In it you can fight with laser guns (it is not real laser).
And in Heron City there are good retaurants, one restaurant is Foster’s Holliwood, it is our favourite.
What is your favourite restaurant in your city?
It has got a bowling alley, it’s good fun. It has got a gym with swimming-pool. We like it and sometimes we celebrate our birthday parties there, as your can see in the photo.

Heron City es un gran lugar de ocio en el que puedes ver películas, jugar a videojuegos, comer…La nueva película es “CÓMO ENTRENAR A TU DRAGÓN”. Aquí las películas inglesas se ven en español.
En Heron City puedes ver películas en Kineápolis.
Hay un Laser Game. En él puedes luchar con armas de láser (el láser no es real)
Y Heron City tiene buenos restaurantes, un restaurante es el Foster´s Holliwood, es nuestro favorito.
¿Cuál es tu restaurante favorito en tu ciudad?
Tiene una bolera, es divertida. También tiene un gimnasio con una piscina. A nosotros nos encanta, a veces celebramos allí nuestras fiestas de cumpleaños, como puedes ver en la foto.

En España las pascuas empiezan el Domingo de Gloria que se conmemora la muerte y resureccion de Jesús; termina el lunes 12 de San Vicente. Lo típico en pascuas es volar la cometa o cachirulo; la comida típica son las monas de pascuas, el pan quemado y las longanizas de pascua. Las monas de pascua llevan huevo duro o de chocolate, cuando hay huevo duro lo típico es rompérselo a alguien en la frente.

¿Vosotros celebrais las pascuas?

In Spain children fly a kite and eat the ”mona”. It’s a tipycal cake in Easter. In our school children have 12 days of holidays. During the holidays we do the homework, celebrate festivals, study maths… Maria and I love Easter holidays because they are very funny but we hate doing homework in holidays.

In Spain some children have a pet.

Hi, I’m Maria and I have a lot of animals. I have  2 dogs,a big one and a little one, 8 tortoises, 2 hamsters and 1 rabbit. My favourite is a small dog, his name is Baster, he is 1 month and he is very funny. He spends the day sleeping. He jumps very high. I love Baster!

En España muchos niños tienen animales.

Hola, yo soy María. Yo tengo 2 perros, uno grande y otro pequeño, 8 tortugas, 2 hámsters y un conejo. Mi favorito es el perro pequeño. Se llama Baster. El tiene 1 mes. Es muy pequeñito y divertido. Se pasa todo el día durmiendo. Y salta muy alto. ¡Yo quiero a Baster!

We celebrate Fallas from the 15th to the 19th of March. One falla is a really big monument made of papier mache. We eat “buñuelos” with hot chocolate. We throw firecrackers, for example chinos, truenos, barrenos……There is a contest to know what is the first falla, there are casales: in this place the people talk,eat…

On the 19th the fallas are burnt and “la fallera mayor” cries. In our school we celebrate our falla day the 15th of March.

Las fallas se celebran en Marzo en Valencia. Una falla es un monumento hecho de cartón piedra que se quema el día 19.En Fallas se comen buñuelos y chocolate caliente. Se tiran muchos petardos unos muy fuertes y otros menos, por ejemplo truenos, barrenos, chinitos, etc. Se hace un concurso para ver cual es la mejor falla y se elige a la fallera y al presidente. Hay casales donde se reunen las personas de la falla, comen, hablan, etc. El día 19 se queman las fallas y la fallera Mayor suele llorar. Es una época divertida. En el colegio celebramos nuestra falla el día 15.

Mis asignaturas en mi colegio son castellano, inglés, matemáticas, educación física, religión, informática,  educación para la ciudadanía, música y drama.

¿Cual es tu asignatura favorita?

I live in Ribarroja, a town of  Valencia famous by its river Turia.

Ribarroja is a beautiful town, because it has got differents areas: a urban area and other with chalets.

I like the area of chalets where I live. It has parks where I play with my friends.

I love riding my bike to  the river, it has got a very long path along the river, where people walk, ride a horse, ride a bike… It’s good fun.

Yo vivo en Ribarroja, un pueblo de Valencia famoso por su río, el Turia.

Ribarroja es un pueblo muy bonito porque tiene diferentes zonas: una urbana y otra de chalets.

A mi me gusta la zona de chalets donde yo vivo, tiene parques donde yo juego con mis amigos.

Me encanta ir en bicicleta al río, hay un camino de tierra muy largo junto al río, donde la gente pasea, monta a caballo, va en bicicleta… Es divertido.

 In Valencia we can visit the Arts and Science City (English version). There we can visit the Hemispheric, Oceanographic, (it’s a maritime zoo,there are dolphins too) and the Arts and Science Museum.

There is Heron City too, this is a leisure centre (you can bowl, eat and play videogames) there are cinemas, a bowling alley, Burgerking, Pans (fast food restaurants) …

We can also visit the Biopark , this is the Valencian zoo, there we can see animals from Equatorial Africa, Madagascar, Savannah and the Kitum cave. The animals aren’t in cages.

Lugares de turismo

En Valencia podemos visitar la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. Dentro podemos visitar l’Hemisferic, l’Oceanografic (zoo marítimo en el que hay un delfinario) y la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias.

También esta el Heron City, que es un centro de ocio (puedes jugar a los bolos, comer y jugar a las maquinitas) en el que hay cines, bolera, Burgerking, Guru y Pans …

También podemos visitar  el Biopark que es el zoo de Valencia, en él podemos observar animales de la Sabana, África  Ecuatorial, Madagascar y animales de la cueva Kitum. 
Los animales están en libertad.

The typical food in Spain is: oranges, paella, fartons, horchata …
The paella is made with rice, vegetables, chicken, saffron… We had paella in school today, it was really nice!
The fartons are a typical cake in fallas.
The horchata is a typical drink, you have to dipthe fartons in the horchata.
The oranges are a fruit, their colour is orange. There is an orange tree in our school, you can have a look at it in our photograph.

Las comidas típicas en España son: las naranjas, la paella, los fartons, la horchata…
La paella se cocina con verduras, arroz, azafrán, pollo…
Los fartons son una especie de bollos que se mojan en la horchata.
La horchata es una bebida típica española.
Las naranjas son frutas, se cojen del campo y su color es el naranja.
Hoy hemos comido paella en el colegio, ¡estaba muy rica!

I get up at 10 o’clock, I have my breakfast and then I play the playstation3. It is very funny! Sometimes I play football with my team in my school. In the afternoon I like going to the sports centre or the bowling alley with my friends and sometimes I am allowed to have dinner with them at their houses. I also have to do my homework or study if we have exams. I hate doing my homework! What do you like doing at the weekend?

Me levanto a la hora que quiera porque es fiesta, normalmente a las diez, yo juego a la play, ¡es muy divertida! También a veces tengo partido de fútbol con el equipo alevín de mi colegio. Por la tarde me gusta quedar un rato con mis amigos y pasarlo bien juntos. A veces mis padres me dejan quedarme a cenar en su casa y así el día es mucho más largo. No es tan divertido el día cuando tengo muchos deberes o exámenes, entonces tengo que dedicar la tarde a estudiar.
